Craft Market

Today I did a Craft stall in the Gloucester Farmers Market

My stall and the other stalls in the Farmers Market sold only items made or produced in Gloucestershire

These are my favorite items at the moment

Surprisingly, many people were interested in my painted stones which I had only brought to keep the tablecloth from flapping around in the breeze !

I need to book another market soon

How to make Jewellry from Acrylic pour "Skins"

Today I have made a video for you regarding making Jewellry from Acrylic "Skins"

Skins are the left over paint that runs off the edge of your pour painting and collets on the surface that you are working on.

Click on the link below

Jewellry from Acrylic Paint Skins

I personally work on Reynolds Plastic Coated Freezer Paper which is available on Amazon.
When you work on this type of surface , it is easy to peel off the paint when it is dry and save it for useing for jewellry. Drying can take two to three days depending on how thick the layer of paint is.

I hope that this is helpful

Multi-Coloured Starburst Acrylic Painting

Black swipe on Multi-Colour

This weekend I have been playing with multi-coloured pouring and then swiping across them with black paint. These are my colours

This is the paint before I did the swiping

I got my inspiration from a video by Julie Cutts

Do go and see how it was done

I feel that I have cracked the paint mix after several months of not so good paintings. I have removed all PVA glue from my mix and the cells are popping up so much better.

I am feeling happy with these swipes that I have done today

Happy Painting

Fire Art using Alcohol Inks

This was my first attempt at "Fire Art"

I have been making art using alcohol inks for some time and have seen other artists have "fired" their tiles for a lovely effect but up until now I have not tried it out.

Lighting the ink and burning off the alcohol gives a different effect that you could not get with a brush or using a dropper with the alcohol ink. I just love the "Bottom of The Sea" effect you get with fire

These are the sprays that I use to seal, UV treat and varnish my AI tile paintings. I do 3 coats of each spray starting with the seal, UV then varnish. These are available on Amazon and Ebay.

However, I am planning on trying resin on these tiles for the first time and will add a picture when I have done this

SAFETY NOTE

If you try this type of art please be ultra safety aware as you are literally "playing with fire"

It is best to put your tiles on a metal surface such as a baking tray and where possible work outdoors

Take care

First Shift at Arts and Crafts Centre

Yesterday I did my first shift in the Gloucestershire Arts and Crafts Centre.

I was a little worried as I have never worked on a till before and this is a totally new thing for me. However I have to say that it was just fine.
Everyone else who was working in the centre was so lovely and Chris helped me to get my head around using the till.

My first customer was my daughter who popped in to see how I was doing and bought some local scene cards of the area around the Cathedral, which she plans to frame. She paid by card so I was able to try out my till and card payment memory on her - thankfully all went well! Thanks Roz x

Below is my art which is currently for sale in the centre

Do pop into the shop and see all the amazing crafts made by Gloucestershire artists
